- A full-color design. Color has been carefully used throughout, not as window dressing but to add clarity and readability to the different parts of each chapter and the different sections of the book.
- Thirty new graphics. To engage today's visual learners, a full color illustration has been added to the Final Check story in each chapter.
- Additional multicultural names and repeated words. To broaden both the appeal and the effectiveness of the practice materials, ethnic names have been used more frequently, and even more vocabulary words have been repeated in the Final Checks.
- Revised and updated practice items. As always, a number of practice items throughout the book have been revised or updated to ensure that each item works as clearly and effectively with students as possible.
OTHER FEATURES OF THE TP VOCABULARY SERIES:
- The words-in-context approach. Students learn words best by seeing them repeatedly in different contexts, not through rote memorization. Each word in a TP vocabulary book is presented in up to ten different contexts. Each encounter increases the chance that the word will become part of a student's permanent word bank.
- Abundant practice. In addition to the extensive practice in each chapter, there are unit tests or review activities, crossword puzzle reviews, repeated words from one chapter to the next, and opportunities for sing the words in discussion and writing. There are also added tests in the Test Bank and the Online Learning Center. All this practice means that students learn in the best possible way: by working closely and repeatedly with each word.
- Appealing Content. Dull practice materials work against learning. The full-color format and illustrations will spark interest in the books. Even more important, the lively content and clear and clear, friendly style of the books make learning easier--and more enjoyable--for students.
- Pricing. The net price of $8.90 per book--most vocabulary books sell for more than twice that much--means that teachers are securing the highest quality materials at the lowers possible price.
- Outstanding Supplements. Free supplements to adopters include a Vocabulary Placement Test, an Instructor's Edition, a combined Instructor's Manual and Test Bank, and access to the Online Learning Center which includes additional web-based vocabulary activities and a PowerPoint presentation for each book.
