TP expands acclaimed college reading series
Available now—three new texts in the popular Ten Steps college reading series. The new titles include a revised full-color edition of  Ten Steps to Improving College Reading Skills AND two editions of our most basic reading test for ESL and ABE learners:  Groundwork for College Reading, 4/e and Groundwork for College Reading with Phonics, 4/e.  

 
Townsend Press has moved!
Outgrowing its old warehouse, Townsend Press built and moved into a brand new Book Center. The new center features upgraded offices and three times more storage space than our old building. See a picture of our new Book Center.

 
Awards announced for developmental college teachers
Townsend Press is pleased to announce the creation of ten $1,000 awards for outstanding college teachers of developmental reading and/or writing skills classes. Winners for the fall 2007 contest have been notified. The spring 2008 contest will run until May 31, 2008.  Get details.  

 
TP paperbacks fuel reading in Philadelphia
Novels from the Townsend Library and Bluford Series are a big hit with students in Philadelphia's William Penn High School.

TP partners with First Book and US Dept. of Education

Townsend Press joined First Book and the US Department of Education to distribute books to children from low-income families. As part of the Adolescent Readers Initiative, TP donated over 500,000 popular paperbacks to kids eager to read them. The initiative kicked off at Webb Middle School in Austin, Texas and was attended by U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings. Click here to see photos from the event.
